Gucci refused to participate in seasonal fashion weeks

Alessandro Michele, the creative director of the brand, told in his quarantine diary that seasonality of fall/winter and spring/summer had been no longer of relevance.
“It is time for more conscious and environment-oriented consumption, clothes must be worn longer”, Alessandro states. “Humanity treats its environment too irresponsibly, we have injured the nature, neglected the sanctity of the very life, we have forgotten that we are just species on this planet!”
Gucci will not take part in Milan fashion week in September, where we expected to see their new collection.
The brand is going to develop only 2 collections instead of 5 and the financial issues concerned with the COVID-19 have nothing to do with it, it is merely a coincidence.
