For Fall/Winter 2020-2021 haute couture collection Maria Grazia Chiuri created her own fashion theatre and sewed outfits for mannequins slightly smaller than the standard ones, and the presentation of the new collection took place in the format of a film.
In the story, a trunk with miniature dresses travels through a fairytale forest. The forest inhabitants: nymphs, mermaids, fauns and other mythical creatures are looking at the designer's creations with interest. Instead of words there is music performed by Roma Sinfonietta Orchestra, an Italian orchestra.
Mannequins with miniature dresses are kept in a special trunk, made in the form of the Dior Flagship Store, that, according to the idea, can move anywhere in the world. The Dior Fall/Winter 2020/2021 haute couture collection has a total of 37 looks, with only 6 of them are sewn in full size, while the rest will only be made to order.
Maria Grazia Chiuri's spectacular surroundings definitely had no match during the first online fashion week.
